Successfully Connects Spare Transformer in Attawapiskat to the Attawapiskat, Ontario – May 11, 2007: As part of its ongoing commitment to improving the reliability of its transmission system, Five Nations Energy Inc. successfully and seamlessly transferred the community of Attawapiskat to a spare transformer on Wednesday May 2 at 19:45 EDT. All work was completed as planned and the electricity customers of Attawapiskat were not even aware that this took place, as they saw no impact on their electricity supply. more... and Kashechewan Timmins, Ontario – November 9, 2006: Five Nations Energy Inc. is celebrating five years of providing reliable electricity through its transmission line and replacing diesel generators as the primary source of electricity in the communities of Fort Albany, Kashechewan and Attawapiskat. The community of Fort Albany was energized on November 7, 2001, followed by Kashechewan on December 12, 2001. Further construction of the line was needed before Attawapiskat could be energized two years later, on December 3, 2003. more... Attawapiskat, Ontario - September 28, 2006: Victor Mine Energized by Five Nations Energy Inc. Ontario’s only aboriginal-owned and operated electricity transmission company, Five Nations Energy Inc. successfully energized the power line to De Beers Canada Inc.’s new Victor Mine Project at 5:28pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2006. The electricity provided through this new transmission line from Five Nations Energy Inc’s existing line to the mine site will enable the construction of the mine to continue. Further upgrades to Five Nations Energy Inc.’s transmission line will be required to supply the electrical capacity necessary for the Victor Mine’s operations phase. more... |
